Just 15 minutes by car from the futuristic and eco-sustainable Cantina dei Marchesi Antinori di San Casciano Val di Pesa (FI), adjacent to Villa il Pozzo and camouflaged thanks to the sea pines, which frame a spectacular view, and a roof covered with thick grass, is the Cantina di Villa il Pozzo.
The winery of Villa il Pozzo, built in the 70s, seems to have anticipated by forty years the idea of eco-sustainability realized in 2012 by Marchesi Antinori with the innovative Cantina di San Casciano val di Pesa (FI).
In the style of the typical Italian winery, where the value of tradition is combined with innovation to guarantee quality, every step is entrusted to the wise care of Duccio Gori. He is the youngest of seven grandchildren but a true master in the vinification of our precious Chianti Docg and IGT wines under the careful direction of the oenologist Fabrizio Moltard and agronomist Elio Galardi.
The precious bunches enter the cellar equipped for a production of the highest level and follow the winemaking processes in steel vats, perfect from the health and thermal point of view, which allow an evolution in a sealed environment, without contact with oxygen, and thus keeping intact all the freshness, harmony and natural balance.
Afterwards, but only for some structured and tannic IGT red wines, a long aging in French oak barriques is carried out so that they can be enjoyed at their best.

Over four hundred years in the heart of Chianti, in Tuscany: a future to discover.
Tenuta il Pozzo appears for the first time in the historical notarial registers of the Grand Duchy of Tuscany on March 4, 1590, when the Florentine notary Bernardo Masini signed the sale of the “Podere con casa da Signore e Lavoratore e con terre lavororate, vitate, olivate, fruttate e boscate, situated in a place called “il Pozzo” in San Lazzaro in Valdelsa, Vicariato di Certaldo”. Tenuta il Pozzo covers an area of 60 hectares in the heart of Chianti, in the Chianti Colli Fiorentini area and on the border with Chianti Classico.
Starting from the ancient Villa il Pozzo, which dominates the valley from its 250 meters of altitude, the Estate descends and develops southeast and southwest in soft hills up to about 150 meters of altitude.
